NTUU “Sikorsky KPI” is one of the largest and famous technical universities in Ukraine, which was founded in 1898. It consists of 29 University Colleges, 13 Scientific and Research Institutes, 14 Scientific and Research Centers, 1 Special Design Laboratory, Technopark ‘KyivskaPolytechnica’, 20 Scientific Departments and 9 Institutes.

Academic staff consist of nearly 3000 Professors, Associated Professors, Lecturers, Post-Graduates, Students, 15 Academicians and Associate Members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine that involved in the scientific research. Currently, 40500 students are studying at the NTUU “Sikorsky KPI”.  NTUU “Sikorsky KPI” offers following levels: Bachelor Degree, Master Degree, PhD and Doctor of Science.

Faculty of Chemical Technology  was founded together with the NTUU “Sikorsky KPI” in 1898. The main branches of scientific activity of the Chemical Technology faculty (CTF) include the development of modern chemical technologies, preparation of drinking water, purification of contaminated water, neutralization of gaseous emissions, utilization of industrial wastes, synthesis of nano-materials and nano-technologies. Seven departments of the CTF train students to obtain the bachelor’s and master’s degree in the following areas and specialties: Chemical Technology, Chemical Technology of Inorganic Compounds, Chemical Technology of Organic Compounds, Technical Electrochemistry, Chemical Technology of Hard Melting Nonmetal and Silicate Materials, Chemical Technology of Polymer and Composite Materials Processing, Computer integrated processes and manufacturing.

Ihor Astrelin is the Dean of Chemical Technology Faculty, Scientific Head and Professor of Technology of Inorganic Substances Department, Water Purification and General Chemical Technology, National Technical University of Ukraine “Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. He has PhD in technics, DrSc (Eng). DrScthesis “Physico-chemical and technological bases of low-waste production of phosphate fertilizers.” Astrelin’s research area connected with water and wastewater treatment technologies, low-waste technologies for wastewater purification of industrial plants and domestic wastewater, synthesis and application of nanostructured composites as an adsorbent in the purification of polluted water, the synthesis of new effective composite coagulants and flocculants, the study of biochemical methods of mineral processing raw materials, applied ecology processes etc.

Teaching skills: Chemical Technologies of Inorganic Substances; The Methodology of Scientific Research

Scientific adviser of 4-5 PhD, 2-3 Post Doc., 2-3 Bachelor students and 2-3 Master student seach year.

Took part in different Ukrainian and International conferences and his researches got positively evaluations. At the same time, he takes part in 2-3 international projects, such as Water Harmony Erasmus+, Water HarmonyEurasia-II, OTAN’s projects, France-Ukrainian’s project, USA-Georgia-Ukrain’s project etc.in the field of environmental technology.

The expert in National and International Research Projects in chemical and environmental technologies, the author of many monographs and textbooks.

Olga Sanginova is Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering Cybernetics Department. She graduated with honours from the NTUU “Sikorsky KPI” in 1998 as Chemical Engineer, Chemical engineering and computer science Specialist.

Postgraduate study: 1998 – 2003 NTUU “Sikorsky KPI”, Post-graduate course of engineering processes automation. PhD in technics (2003), Ph.D. thesis: “Automatic control system of boric regulation process at the VVER-1000 nuclear reactors”.

Research areas: simulation and process control of the water chemistry mode at the NPP, industrial automation, computer science, water and wastewater treatment

Iryna Kosogina has PhD degree in Water Treatment Technology (2009) from the KPI, Ukraine. PhD in technics, Ph.D. thesis: “Low-waste technology of wastewater treatment by coagulation method”. Kosogina’s research areas are on water and wastewater treatment technologies, low-waste technologies for purification of processing medium and wastewater from industrial plants. Nowadays the sphere of her scientific interests is researching of Red Mud in water treatment technology of heavy metals and dyes removal.

Sergii Kontsevoi is an Associate Professor at the Department of Inorganic Substances and General Chemical Technology, the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, Ukraine (full time from 2005). He has PhD degree in Water Treatment Technology (2011) from the KPI, Ukraine. Kontsevoi’s research areas are on the water chemistry of cooling systems and heat-supply networks, especially – preventing the possibility of scale forming and corrosion on the surface of heat-transfer equipment. Nowadays the sphere of his scientific interests is extended by computer modeling and calculations of technological processes. At the same time he takes part in two international projects, such as Erasmus+ and Water Harmony Eurasia-II.

YuriyFedenko is an assistant at the Department of Inorganic Substances and Overall Chemical Technology, the National Technical University of Ukraine “Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, Ukraine (full time from 2014). He has PhD degree in Water Treatment Technology (2014) from the KPI, Ukraine. Fedenko’s research areas are on design and using cheap sorbents from the native Ukrainian raw materials in water treatment from heavy metals. Nowadays the sphere of his scientific interests is researching of bentonite clays in water treatment technology of heavy metals removal. He took part in different Ukrainian and International conferences and his researches got positively evaluations. At the same time he takes part in two international projects, such as Erasmus+ and Water Harmony Eurasia-II.
