sjuShandong Jianzhu University (SJU) is located in Jinan, the capital city of Shandong Province, P. R. China. Founded in 1956, SJU has become one of the foremost national universities in China. With distinctive advantages in the fields of architecture, building, construction and large area of engineering, SJU provides various courses in arts, science, management, business, agronomy and law.

At present there are about 24,000 full-time students and 1,323 academic staff. SJU offers all sorts of undergraduate and postgraduate programmers with the authorized right to confer bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and PhD degree.

SJU has 4 Provincial Key Laboratories, 8 Provincial Engineering Centers and 9 Provincial Key Disciplines. SJU has been leading educational and scientific research in the area of architecture and civil engineering in Shandong Province.

SJU has been doing a lot to develop international exchanges and cooperation. SJU has secured cooperation and exchange relations with more than 40 higher learning and scientific research institutions in over ten countries, such as the US, the UK, Russia, Australia, New Zealand and so on, and carried out exchange programmers, such as mutual academic visits of scholars, cooperation on scientific research, and joint training.

Faculty of Municipal and Environmental Engineering was founded in 1981. The main branches of scientific activity of the Municipal and Environmental Engineering include the development of water supply technologies, waste water treatment technology, technology for building water supply and drainage, pipe planning and designing for water supply and drainage, construction technology of municipal infrastructure, water purification by chemical technology, biochemical technology for waste water treatment, environmental planning and management.

The faculty train students to obtain the bachelor’s and master’s degree in the following areas and specialties: water supply and drainage, environmental engineering, environmental science, biological engineering, municipal engineering.

Outstanding contribution expert in Shandong Province, the owner of Shandong Youth Science and Technology Award, graduated from School of Environment Science and Engineering, Tongji University, Shanghai, China, majoring in Environmental Engineering.

He was mainly engaged in water and waste water pollution control technology, especially in the control technology of emergency water pollution accident. He leaded the project which named the restoration of water quality for the classic grass lake – Nansi Lake (Jining, China) won the Second Award of the Scientific and Technological Progress of Shandong Province in 2013. At present, as a project leader he is in charge over 3 national research projects, 5 key projects of environmental science and technology research of Shandong Province.

Teaching Skills: Waste water treatment technology; Advanced technology of water treatment using the oxidizing methods.
